A divided postcard containing a brown-sepia print from a painting by the German artist Christian Kohler (1809-1861) depicting a biblical scene in the book of Genesis, 29, about the work of Jacob our Father in White. The postcard reads the name of the artist and the name of the work in English, and a headline in Hebrew. On the back of the postcard, which was sent inside baltimore, Maryland, united States, in December 1914, a short letter in the English language. This postcard was produced by the Hebrew Publishing Company in New York City, apparently near the time of delivery, and was printed in Germany. A reproduction from the same painting also appeared on another postcard, published by the Kunstverlag Phönix Leo Winz, Berlin, a few years earlier. See also: Postcard TM 8* 471.3
