Pengendalian Kualitas Produk Isolating Cock dengan Metode Six Sigma di PT XYZ

Abstract. PT XYZ is a manufacturing company that produces military equipment and commercial products, one of which is an air brake system with the main component of the isolating cock. In the period January to June 2023, the component defect rate reached 4%, exceeding the company's tolerance limit of 1.5%. The types of defects found include leaking, corrosion, miss handling, and deformation. The high number of defective products resulted in increased production time and costs as well as delayed delivery. This research aims to propose Improvements using the Six Sigma method with the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach to reduce the number of defects. Based on the calculation, the DPMO value is 9,623,431 with a sigma level of 3.83. The company's target is to achieve a sigma level of 4.00 in the next two years. Proposed Improvements include the addition of work instructions at several work stations, daily machine checks, replacement of parts, installation of displays to reduce noise, and the use of checklists to ensure work steps are in accordance with procedures. It is expected that this proposal can minimize product defects and Improve the quality of the production process at PT XYZ. Abstrak. Pada periode Januari hingga Juni 2023, tingkat kecacatan komponen tersebut mencapai 4%, melebihi batas toleransi perusahaan sebesar 1,5%. Jenis cacat yang ditemukan meliputi bocor, korosi, miss handling, dan deformasi. Tingginya jumlah produk cacat berdampak pada meningkatnya waktu dan biaya produksi serta keterlambatan pengiriman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengusulkan perbaikan menggunakan metode Six Sigma dengan pendekatan DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) guna menekan jumlah kecacatan. Berdasarkan perhitungan, nilai DPMO sebesar 9.623,431 dengan level sigma 3,83. Target perusahaan adalah mencapai level sigma 4,00 dalam dua tahun mendatang. Usulan perbaikan yang diajukan antara lain penambahan instruksi kerja di beberapa stasiun kerja, pengecekan mesin harian, penggantian part, pemasangan display untuk mengurangi kebisingan, serta penggunaan daftar periksa untuk memastikan langkah kerja sesuai prosedur. Diharapkan usulan ini dapat meminimalkan kecacatan produk dan meningkatkan kualitas proses produksi di PT XYZ.
