Abstract
As a poet, editor, art critic, and translator, William Michael Rossetti enjoyed a long career as a man of letters. A member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brother hood, a revolutionary literary and artistic movement, Rossetti edited its jour nal, the Germ (1850), produced editions of Blake, Shelley, and Whitman, translated Dante, wrote a biography of Keats, and edited the poetry of his brother, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and his sister, Christina Rossetti.
