Abstract
This chapter covers how to handle injunctions for anti-social behaviour and gang violence in the county court or High Court. Since 2015, the youth court has been given a civil jurisdiction to grant such injunctions against persons under 18 years old. Funding for representing respondents in applications for these injunctions is available through the civil legal aid scheme, which is subjected to the usual civil merits and means testing. The chapter also considers the provisions within Magistrates’ Court Rules 1981 and Magistrates Court Act 1980. It then looks into the Civil Evidence Act 1995, which applies to both applications for injunctions and breach proceedings.
