THE STATE OF SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF INJURIES AT WORK
View through CrossRef
Injuries at work are an integral part of numerous business processes. No one expects them, but unfortunately they happen. Many employers become aware of their role and importance only when these workplace injuries occur. The essence of occupational safety should be dealing with the causes of occupational injuries. Unfortunately, we mostly learn by analyzing the consequences, ie. injury at work. The next question it imposes relates to the dilemma of whether and who deals with the existing data on work injuries? Through this work, we will try to make a kind of comparative review of the occurrence of injuries at work through several key indicators (the number of fatal and serious injuries at work, in which activities the most frequent injuries at work occurred, what were the sources of the occurrence of injuries at work and what were the causes). In our work, we will use the existing data of the Labor Inspectorate in the period from 2019 to 2023. When selecting
indicators of the state of safety and health at work in the observed time period, we will focus on data that can be compared because not all data is available for all years. A descriptive method was used in the paper, along with the study of available literature, both domestic and foreign.
