Painting of bonades, the subject of which depicts Jesus' way in Jerusalem. The event is celebrated on Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter and begins the Holy Week of the Church. The event is told in the New Testament of the Bible, Gospel according to Mark 11: 1-11, Matthew 21: 1-11, Luke 19: 28-44 and John 12: 12-19. The entrance is also included in the preaching text for the first advent as well as in the Advent hymn Bereden road for Herran, Sv. Ps. 103. And the disciples were gingo and made as Jesus had commanded them and led to him the donkey and the bowl; and they put their mantles on him, and he sat down on him. And the folk scarf, which was very large, widened its mantles along the way; but some villainous twigs of the trees and roamed the road. And the people, both those who gingo before him and those who followed suit, shouted and said: The Son of Hosianna David! Blessed be he who comes, in the name of the Lord. Hosianna in height! Also in terms of the building of the subject there are similarities, a form of perspective, a depth in the picture, which are missing in the Leksand- and JusviksÄven. I think it’s someone though so called Dalpainter who made the two paintings. Someone who worked in south-eastern Dalarna. I know of a painting in Buska in By parish in Dalarna that in terms of old man, stretcher and house the two UM paintings are very close. Time I dare not have a definite idea. To be seen around 1800. ' Enl, from Maj Nodermann, the Nordic Museum, on 4 April 1989, it could be Dals-Torrångs Olof SamuelsSon, Solberga, Ovanmyra, 1794-1864, who painted the scene. According to Roland Andersson, Kulturhuset, Leksand, on 10 February 2003, the picture is... “most likely painted by the Ivares painters from Rovgärde in Jusvik. They were often out and painted together, the brothers Anders and Erik with Anders’s son Daniel. Then it depends on the century who to take as principal. This painting looks to be quite early, I therefore think that Ivares Anders is' the culprit’.” (1775-1835). The Ivares painters executed paintings for men’s husbands in the 1820th - 1830s. A bonade painting in a similar design was sold at the Modernt & Classical quality auction, autumn 2005, Göteborg’s auctioneer (no. 594). It was also attributed to the Ivares painters from the parish of Justice, Dalarna. Letters from Svante Swärdström accompanied the painting.
