In the words of the artist: "'To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before…' (from Star Trek)
I find the possible existence of extraterrestrial life to be intriguing and thought-provoking, and the idea ignites my imagination. Inspired by a fictional world of my own, and drawing from the structure and motion of birds, I have created shoes that fit the human foot, but echo hybrids from another world. Their minimal points of contact with the ground create a sensation of floating and weightlessness, as if they existed in outer space, but the laws of the gravitation remain unshaken, stabilizing the body and grounding it in reality.”
