View through CrossRef
Abstract This chapter discusses Annex XVIII of the Specialized Agencies Convention, which modifies the standard clauses of the Convention and their application to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Annex XVII was adopted on 3 July 1987, shortly after the conversion of UNIDO into a Specialized Agency. Since then, a total of 23 states have acceded to the Specialized Agencies Convention in respect of UNIDO. Annex XVII consists of just two parts, which supplement the standard clauses of the Specialized Agencies Convention. As in other annexes, paras 1(a)-(c) regulate the functional privileges and immunities of experts serving on committees of or performing missions for UNIDO, while para 2 specifies the additional category of officials who, besides the Director-General, enjoy diplomatic status under Art. VI Section 21 of the standard clauses.
