In 1971, the church interior at Husbyborg, Tierp was examined by archaeologist Bo Kindwall. The archaeological investigation was commissioned by Ola Ehn, Upplandsmuseet. The purpose of the investigation was to document the area inside the walls before a subsequent preservation of the ruin.
The investigation found a number of constructions, walls, pole holes, etc. The finds consisted of ceramics, slag boards, spikes, coins, etc. The objects can be dated both to prehistoric times (Bronze Age) and to historical times. In addition, skeletal remains were found after 13 individuals, 10 of whom were in original burial on their backs. A skeleton found a double full comb and another iron knife.
