Lithuanians reunited with parents

Regina Leonas and brother Tomas, appeared delighted at the sight of Old Glory on arrival at Idlewild airport. The Lithuanian young people arrived aboard an SAS plane from Copenhagen, en route to see their parents, whom they haven't seen in 16 years. They boarded another plane for Chicago to join their mother and father, Mr and Mrs Paulis Leonas. The parents had appealed personally to Soviet Premier Khrushchev during his US visit for permission to allow the children to leave the Iron Curtain country. 30 January 1960
