Heitor Lima e a mediação intelectual na Primeira República: entre a literatura, o direito e a imprensa

This article proposes an analysis of the trajectory of Heitor Lima (1887–1945), an intellectual active in the fields of literature, law and journalism during the first decades of the 20th century in Brazil. Based on the concept of the “mediating intellectual,” it seeks to understand how Lima mobilised different spaces of sociability — literary salons, the Rio de Janeiro press, legal institutions — to intervene in the public debates of his time, with an emphasis on his activism for the legalisation of divorce. The study, based on printed documentation and theoretical references from intellectual history, is part of the perspective that peripheral trajectories offer relevant keys to understanding the symbolic and political disputes of the First Republic.
