Resumen Los quistes de duplicación esofágica suponen el 0,5-2,5% de las tumoraciones esofágicas y hasta el 20% de todos los quistes de duplicación. A su vez, los quistes de duplicación esofágica pueden localizarse a nivel cervical, torácico, toracoabdominal e intraabdominal, siendo las localizaciones más frecuentes la torácica y la toracoabdominal. Sin embargo, la localización de los quistes de duplicación esofágica a nivel intraabdominal exclusivamente es extremadamente rara. Debido a su infrecuencia, se presenta el caso de un paciente con un quiste de duplicación esofágica exclusivamente intraabdominal.
