DIGITALIZACIJA VN POSTROJENJA – KARAKTERISTIKE VLAN-A

We are witnessing the increasing presence of information and telecommunication technologies in power plants. With the continuation of the digitalization of HV facilities up to the Process Bus level, the requirements that are set before the functionalities necessary for the successful operation of protection and control systems are becoming more and more complex. The exchange of information using Sampled Values (SV) - defined in part 9-2 of the IEC 61850 Standard - is a key aspect of the further development and implementation of digitized HV substations. Taking into account all the characteristics of SV, we realize that establishing a functional architecture of the Process Level system presents an extremely complex task, both from the aspect of time synchronization and the amount of data on the local area network (LAN). As a possible solution for data flow control in digitized HV facilities, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network). The aforementioned segregation of network systems can also be used to increase computer security - Cyber security.
