SUN IN THE MIRROR OF BULGARIAN PHRASEOLOGY
View through CrossRef
The purpose of the article is to analyze the concept “sun” in Bulgarian phraseology. The object of the study is phraseological units grouped around this concept; the subject is their linguistic and cultural originality.
The study, within the framework of linguocultural approach, used both general specific methods — descriptive and comparative, the method of analysis and synthesis, and purely linguistic ones, in particular the method of linguocultural interpretation, conceptual analysis, the method of structural-semantic modeling.
The scientific novelty of this research is determined by the fact that for the first time in foreign and domestic linguistics, the concept “sun” has been studied on the basis of Bulgarian, literary and dialect phraseology against the background of phraseology of other Slavic languages, in particular Ukrainian and Russian.
The obtained results of the study allow us to draw conclusions, first of all, regarding the sacralization of the sun in all three languages, which correlates with religious code of culture, which is distinguished by an exclusively positive coloring, which goes back to the archaic tradition of honoring the sun and is associated with the customs, formed by this tradition. At the same time, the conducted research allow us to focus on some differences in representation of the sun in various phraseological pictures of the world and its associations with something everyday and familiar.
The practical value lies in the possible use of the research results in the field of phraseology, linguoculturology, ethnolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, linguosemiotics, intercultural communication and translation studies.
The prospects of this research can be seen in the further detailed study of the Bulgarian phraseological picture of the world within the framework of astronomical linguocultural code.
