Endometrial Receptivity Failure? Crossing Barrier by Ayurveda!! A Case Report

Infertility is a medical condition that indicates a couple failed to conceive in one year. A victimized couple not only suffers from social issues but also economic and psychosomatic diseases. Incidences are increasing day by day. Modern techniques for fertility are also increasing, still, results are not sure for each case. IVF is a technique for fertility treatment where in that process mainly formed embryo get transferred to the uterine cavity. In the uterus, essentially endometrial receptivity is a prime factor for implantation. It is a complex process. Endometrial receptivity is a capacity marker for acceptance of embryo and it highlights the uterine environment. Ayurveda coins a definition of infertility means failure to achieve a live birth. Ayurveda word to word explains this concept of Endometrial receptivity as Normal Rutukal where kshetrashuddhi / avyapannyonita will be there. In that phase formation of a place /healthy system/ uterine endometrium takes place. It is supported with continuous nutritional supply and it ends with the formation of female beej . It is an optimal fertility period. Based on this concept 'a couple with recurrent IVF failure 'was treated with ayurvedic treatment for RIF. Object: To evaluate the effect of proposed shodhana and basti karma. Material and methods used as classical review as well as modern literature were studied and evaluated. Case description: Mrs. AK 42-year-old female came to SRPT OPD of KAD, Shiroda Goa with a major complaint of multiple IVF failure. Outcome: The patient underwent ayurvedic therapy throughout and delivered a male baby of the weight of 3.1 kg at 36 completed weeks with cesarian section.
