Assessing the Relationship between Work Engagement and Job Performance: The Moderating Role of Organizational Patriotism

The study aims to assess the impact of work engagement on job performance emphasizing the moderating role of organizational patriotism. The research focused on faculty members from three public sector universities in the Malakand Division. A sample of 290 was selected using simple random sampling from University of Swat, University of Malakand and University of Buner. A quantitative research design has been used with an online questionnaire distributed to collect data. For data analysis, the analysis was conducting using Smart PLS Software. The findings indicated that work engagement influences job performance and organizational patriotism was identified as a moderating factor between the work engagement and job performance in universities of Malakand division. The moderating role of organizational patriotism highlights its importance in influencing whether employees engaged in their work will perform better or otherwise in the study area. This study emphasizes the importance of organizational patriotism at nexus between work engagement and job performance, with the help of a moderated model.
