Supramolecular Chemistry in Medicine

Abstract
Supramolecular chemistry lies at the very heart of medicine, and interactions between molecules play a vital role in almost all aspects of medicinal chemistry. In this chapter, we provide an overview of the current role of supramolecular chemistry in medicine and perhaps encourage others to think about a wider range of medicine‐related research in terms of supramolecular chemistry. In the process, we discuss the role of supramolecular chemistry in drug action and delivery, and describe how supramolecular interactions also play a role in assay and diagnosis.
