Abstract
This chapter describes a “wire harness,” which performs the power distribution function in a vehicle electrical system. The wire harness consists of wires, connectors, power supply blocks, and exterior parts. The chapter describes technological history, trends, types, and the role of this product, in addition to detailing all its components. The “wire,” which is the main component of the wire harness, is introduced in Section 3. The “connector,” another important component of the wire harness, is introduced in Section 4. The “power supply block” is an important component for the power distribution function and is introduced in Section 5. Section 6 introduces “exterior parts” that are used to protect the wire harness from damage.
