View through CrossRef
This article aims to read Giorgio Caproni's oeuvre and to reflect on the chronotope of the wood as appropriated from Dante's Divine Comedy. Especially in his more mature and final poetics, the forest is the stage of an uninterrupted search for meaning and it takes on ever new narrative and allegorical values. A brief overview of the Divine Comedy's three woods and an analysis of selected texts by Caproni will clarify the impact of Inferno I and Inferno XIII on the author's poetics.
