QUANTITATIVE DETECTION OF DELAMINATION IN REINFORCED CONCRETE ROAD WALL BY INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY WITH HEAT BALANCE SIMULATION

View through CrossRef
The surface temperature obtained from a thermal image isn’t reliable information for the inspection of concrete structures. Factors that influence surface temperature (ex. weather, structure and surface conditions) need to be considered in diagnosing concrete by passive infrared thermography. In previous research, the available time window for inspection has been investigated and the optimal time window is not certified commonly. Subsurface damage estimation by infrared thermography considering other factors has not been applied to an in-service structure so far. In this research, the subsurface delamination of reinforced concrete road wall is detected quantitatively by passive infrared thermography with heat balance simulation. The measured surface temperature of spalling parts is 0.7 ℃ higher on average than the non-damaged parts. The trend of measured surface temperature which rises during measurements is indicated to be reproduced by heat balance simulation with structural, weather and concrete data.
Title: QUANTITATIVE DETECTION OF DELAMINATION IN REINFORCED CONCRETE ROAD WALL BY INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY WITH HEAT BALANCE SIMULATION
Description:
The measured surface temperature of spalling parts is 0.
7 ℃ higher on average than the non-damaged parts.
The trend of measured surface temperature which rises during measurements is indicated to be reproduced by heat balance simulation with structural, weather and concrete data.
