Responsible Design and the Management of Ethics

In a reprise that reflects the significance and the timelessness of Peter Madsen's message, this article is reprinted from the Fall 1991 Design Management Journal. Madsen thoughtfully defines responsible design with respect to the activities of designers and design managers and their professional responsibilities. In addition, to get beyond the conceptual stage, he proposes 10 specific steps executives should take to translate responsible design into a corporate reality.
