This chapter includes the obituaries of Władysław Bartoszewski, Ezra Mendelsohn, Jerzy Tomaszewski, and Feliks Tych. Władysław Bartoszewski was one of the great figures in Polish public life in recent times, who died of a heart attack in Warsaw in April 2015 at the age of 93. Ezra Mendelsohn was one of the pioneers of the rediscovery of the Polish Jewish past, who died of cancer in May 2015. Jerzy Tomaszewski, who died on 4 November 2014 at the age of 84, was one of the principal figures in the revival of the study of the history of the Jews in Poland. Lastly, Feliks Tych was a leading figure in Jewish life in Poland and was a director of the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, who died on 17 February 2015.
