View through Europeana Collections
A divided postcard containing an illustration printed in the style of Eugendstil, in which a figure is seen sticking a shofar, in front of a shining sun and from it the word: "Sparrow". In the lower right corner you can see the artist's signature: C. Wach at the bottom of the illustration, the verse is printed from the book of Leviticus, 25,100, and below it a later print was added, to use the postcard as a Happy New Year's epistle: "For a good year you will write". On the back of the postcard it was noted in German that it was printed in Zlochev, Galicia (then: under Austro-Hungary) published by Brandes Trading House. This postcard was not used and has no date score on it. Apparently, it was produced at the end of the first decade or at the beginning of the second decade of the twentieth century.
