The fate of Chanel ballet costumes for “The blue express” ballet

The relevance of the article is justified by the interest of many researchers in the problem of interaction between ballet and fashion. With the help of a theoretical analysis of literature, Internet sources, illustrative material, the author of the article presents an analysis of the features of the ballet costumes for the production of The Blue Express, designed by Gabrielle Chanel for Sergey Diaghilev’s Russian Seasons. The article also analyzes the exposition activities associated with the demonstration of a ballet costume and in particular the Chanel exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which was held from May 5 to August 7, 2005. Research methods and methodology. The result of the article is a conclusion about the significance of ballet costumes created by the Chanel fashion house for vestmental fashion.
