Resumo: O Ano Sacerdotal tem como objetivo fortalecer humana, espiritual epastoralmente a pessoa do presbítero e o exercício do seu ministério, de modoque melhor possam servir a Igreja. São João Maria Vianey é um particularexemplo de “fidelidade a Cristo, fidelidade do sacerdote”, exemplo de identificaçãocom o próprio ministério. Nesse sentido, os presbíteros são convidados aaprofundarem sua própria identidade, vinculada ao serviço à Igreja, à concepçãoontológica que os relaciona com a eucaristia que celebram, à evangelizaçãocontextualizada do povo de Deus. É fundamental para isso o desenvolvimentode uma espiritualidade sacerdotal que sustente a caridade pastoral, de modoque a santificação do presbítero contribua para a santificação das comunidadesque ele acompanha.Abstract: The year dedicated to the priesthood intends to strengthen spirituallyand foster the Pastoral service of the priest and his ministry so as to improvethe service rendered to the Church. Saint John Mary Vianey is singled out asan example of “fidelity to Christ” and thus he is outstanding in the practice of thevirtue of fidelity by embracing his ministry. In this sense every priest is invitedto deepen his identity linked to the service of the Church and attached to theontological principle related to the Eucharist he celebrates and the evangelizationcentered in the People of God. Therefore, fundamental to the priesthood is thegrowth in priestly spirituality which sustains the virtue of charity in pastoral serviceso that the sanctification of the presbyter will contribute to the sanctification ofthe communities of faith entrusted to him.
