About this conferenceFollowing the success of the last Conferences organized by the Portuguese Steelwork Association, the XIV Conference on Steel and Composite Construction was held in Coimbra, Portugal from 23 to24 November 2023 and had the main objective to promote the most recent innovations and achievements in the scope of this type of construction, seeking to contribute decisively to the promotion, consolidation, and expansion of the sector. The Conference was a privileged encounter for the exchange of ideas and experiences among the different actors in the design and execution of steel and composite structures, as well as in the teaching and research activities in the area. All intervention in this area required the establishment of multidisciplinary teams, involving different specialists, whose interaction was stimulated in this Conference. Special relevance was given to the themes: Modular Construction and Additive Manufacturing, where the conference had the presentation of papers, and keynotes by invited speakers on these topics.Review ProcessAll papers published in this issue were peer‐reviewed by the Scientific Board of the conference organizer in a single‐blind process.
