Gold ring found at Sessa, Italy

The item is a cutting or a page proof from Archaeological Journal (see Bibliography).The drawing shows a gold signet ring of Thomasius de Rogeriis de Suessa, with an inscription around the hoop. The inscription reads: + CHRISTUS VINCIT CHRISTUS REGNAT CHRISTUS IMPERAT +ET VERBUM CARO FACTUM EST ET HABITAVIT IN NOBIS It was found in 1845 in Sessa among the ruins of an old church. The signet is cut in a red stone and has a device of clasped hands, and is of mid 3rd-century AD date. It was reused as the signet of Thomas probably in the 13th century.
