Focal Osseous Dysplasia
View through CrossRef
Abstract
Focal cemento-osseous dysplasia (COD) is a benign fibro-osseous condition that can be seen in dentate and edentulous patients. It is an asymptomatic lesion, and follow-up is essential due to the possibility that focal COD can progress to a condition called florid osseous dysplasia (OD) that involves multiple sites. In this case report, a focal OD is presented, which is located in the edentulous area between the second premolar and the second molar on the left side mandible of a 38-year-old female patient. The lesion caused expansion of the alveolar bone. The diagnosis, treatment and follow-up after surgery are reported.
