Detail of Folkungabrunnen: The women’s peace - the relief shows the horrors since Birger Jarl struck this protective wall around the home world through the law of women’s peace, the young women’s growth in beauty and virtue such as the fagraste flourishes, this year of herb had to show, because then in happiness and joy give birth to sons and daughters, them they had a firm and loving hand to strong men and loving women. The Folke Harvest with Folke Filbyter, sculpture erected by Carl Milles, was inaugurated in 1927. The source of inspiration for this work was Verner von Heidensta’s novel Folkungaträdet, in which the demise of Folkungaätten is portrayed. Folke Filbyter - the ancestor of the mother - is depicted, when he looks for his abducted grandson to horse. The 16-meter-long black granite well, functioning as a barrier between the square and the street, depicts with its reliefs episodes from the history of the Folk Age.
