Information structure model of natural stimuli source
View through CrossRef
Natural stimuli are initial information source for human cognitive processing. This notion has been accepted and commonly used for long time, however, it seldom was defined in psychology and physiology for its unknown information structure. In this paper, we propose a formula of object’s property information structure, which together with the event information structure formula proposed previously can completely express natural stimuli. Based on this, the nature of stimuli variable has been reconsidered in the classical experimental field of psychophysics, perception, learning and language by using the formula element variables. It was shown that in spite of stimuli diverse form, stimuli can be expressed by stimuli formula elements. This framework reveals an underlying stimuli structure rooted in human processing pattern SOR. It indicates that a mathematical standard for stimuli expression should be adopted. And beyond of this, all stimulus processing theories should be reconsidered, promoted or revised, for stimuli also are objective contents processed by cognition systems. It will be a revolution for cognitive processing and unified psychology.
Title: Information structure model of natural stimuli source
Description:

The contribution of stimulus frequency and attention to the N2 and P3 in Go/Nogo: A multilab replication and new analyses
