Abstract
By tradition, Servius Tullius was the sixth king of Rome (r. 578–535
BCE
); he was the son‐in‐law and successor of Tarquinius Priscus, in whose household he was raised. His rule was considered benign, with many public works and social reforms attributed to him. He was murdered by Tarquinius Superbus, Rome's last king.
