From Aristotle to Cicero

This collection draws together a selection of Gisela Striker’ essays on ancient philosophy published over a period of forty years. There is first a series of papers on Aristotle’s logic, complementing her translation and commentary on Aristotle’s Analytics book I, two of them translated from German. These are followed by three essays on Aristotle’s ethics and moral psychology and a short paper on his metaphysics. The last five chapters include studies on Hellenistic philosophy, three on epistemology and two on ethics. Three of these essays have not been published before.
