Paranoïa: la vie secrète de Salvador Dali

In 1942, thirty-eight-year-old Salvador Dali completed his autobiography The Secret Life of Salvador Dali. In it, he pretended to reveal himself to the reader in all candor. But it’s an illusion. Dali builds the story of his life on what he considers to be his breakthrough: the paranoid-critical method. What is paranoia? How did Dali transform this psychoanalytical complex into an instrument of artistic production? How did he use it as a canvas for his autobiography? These are just some of the questions to be answered in this analysis.
