Antistatic Property of Polyacrylonitrile Fiber by Plasma-grafting Treatment
View through CrossRef
Hydrophilic monomer was grafted onto polyacrylonitrile fiber using an atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge plasma technique. The degree of grafting was evaluated using a dyeing method. The treated surfaces were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The plasma-grafting treatment was found to introduce some amide, carboxyl and hyamine groups onto the fiber surface, and to drastically improve the wettability and antistatic ability of polyacrylonitrile fibers.
