Code Red

View through Europeana Collections
In the photographic series "Arboretum", which includes the works "Code Red" and "Blues Brothers", Aris Georgiou tries to approach the form of the tree, its mass, volume and texture, turning his camera to them in order to capture images that we often do not notice. As he notes about this approach, "it allows me to perceive and weigh the interrelationship of foliage, trunk, branches. Depending on the shot I am allowed to appreciate its varied associations with its immediate environment". He does not interfere with the trees he spots during his walks in forests in Greece and abroad, but he does identify traces left by others before him that irritate his eye.
