Suvi Remembers

Is it better to never forget, or intentionally forget, the sacrifice of others? In this work of philosophical short fiction, the townspeople of Palwas resort to human sacrifice to appease a malevolent force. Suvi serves as the designated witness to the sacrifice and is tasked with remembering those who are forgotten while others magically forget. Suvi walks the happy town and grapples with the weight of her duty and the emotional toll it takes while other blissfully live without the memory of the children they have sacrificed.
