INVESTMENT, a couple. Of silver. Rings standing oval, round, open at one side, the end at the opening rounded off in this one round middle hole. Within the lower part of the ring an ornamentation of symmetrical rope-bars within edged narrow frames, on top of these in the middle a round flat bud. On the back of the ring Arabian stamp. Arabian work, Tunisia, the 1800s before 1889. Purchased by Johanna Kempe in March 1889 from a native action in the Basars in Tunis, her stay there together with parts of her family, and the Miss Carolina Pflaum and Ida Uhse during their journey through Algeria and Tunisia and again across Switzerland February-June 1889.
