Narrative Medicine arises from an attempt to fill the gaps in evidence-based medicine, such as consideration for the care and personal aspects of the patient: humanitarian study in medicine, primary care medicine, narratology and the study of the relationship with the patient. The narration of the disease allows to face the patient's problems in a holistic way, also by giving therapeutic and diagnostic indications; it addresses both the patient and the medical staff, the two figures involved, in relation to each other, in the treatment process. The narrative allows the patient not to feel isolated, but at the center of the care facility and is therefore considered on a par with the clinical signs and symptoms of the disease itself. The stories in this book allow sharing the stories told and produce food for thought and insight for doctors who face similar clinical situations.
