En el presente trabajo se pretende analizar las acciones que acometió Alejandro Magno en Persépolis para, en última instancia, lograr realizar una interpretación de los acontecimientos y del incendio. La consecución de estos objetivos se realizará a través de la estratificación y análisis de todos los datos disponibles para el estudio de Alejandro en Persépolis; los antecedentes, los datos arqueológicos, las fuentes literarias y las corrientes interpretativas que mayor calado han tenido entre los historiadores.
