W. To the past: Rachel.
View through Europeana Collections
In the file: an un divided postcard containing a colorful print produced from a black-and-white reproduction of the painting "Rachel" (1888) by the French artist Jules Joseph Lefebvre (1836-1911). The postcard was printed with the artist's name and the name of the work in Hebrew and French. Apparently, this postcard was produced at the beginning of the activity of "Lebanon", Warsaw-Moscow, in the first decade of the 20th century. This postcard was not used and was removed from a collection of "Lebanon" postcards donated to the National Library in 1939 by the publisher's editor-in-chief, Mr. Benjamin Mintz, Warsaw. Also in the file: a "Happy New Year" postcard produced from the same reproduction of the painting "Rachel", apparently by a publisher who operated in Germany or Austria, in the early 20th century. This divided postcard was not used and no date or place of production was given on it. The postcard itself was printed in Hebrew and German with the blessings: "For a good year you will write - Glückliches Neujahr!" And the postcard number.
