Rational Layout and Planning for Children’s Activity Places in Hongkou, Jingan and Xuhui Communities of Shanghai

Abstract
“Shanghai Urban Developing Plan (2017-2035)” puts forward to construct a children friendly city. However, there are few studies focusing on the suitability of children’s activities in Shanghai, and the current situation of children’s activity places in Shanghai is still unclear. In this research, three districts with the largest population density in Shanghai: Hongkou, Jingan and Xuhui, were selected to investigate the current status of children’s activity places, and the problems existing in the districts which hamper the development of children’s activity places is identified. Then, using advanced theoretical and practical experience for reference, the optimization scheme of children friendly districts in Shanghai was put forward.
