Mondon le Fils is the same person as François-Thomas Mondon, son of the goldsmith Pasquier Mondon († 1753) and brother of the Pasquier-Remy Mondon (c. 1712-after 1784). Long, but erroneously, identified with a non-existent Jean Mondon. François-Thomas Mondon gets a royal privilege for 12 years on March 6, 1736 (Fuhring 1986, No. 48). On March 24, the Association between Mondon and Antoine Aveline for the editions of these engravings. Series A and B are announced at the Mercure de France for April 1736 (p. 768).
