La relación entre esoterismo y arte moderno ha dejado de ser terreno inexplo- rado. En los últimos treinta años, ha ido construyéndose una bibliografía ex- tensa en relación a este asunto, y se han celebrado exposiciones importantes dedicadas al mismo en instituciones artísticas de primer nivel. Existe hoy en día la creencia extendida de que desde mediados del siglo XIX hasta la II Guerra Mundial, e incluso posteriormente, la espiritualidad alternativa y el esoterismo (en cualquiera de sus formas) han influido enormemente en la manera en la que se ha desarrollado el arte moderno
