Concept art for video games: King Guesar.
View through Europeana Collections
[EN] This final degree project presents the process of developing the concept art of a video game. It consists of the design of the main characters and a monster, which is based on the Tibetan story of King Gesar. King Gesar, in addition to being a character, is also the name of a Tibetan epic in which the heroism of King Gesar is described, knocking down demons to establish the country in the Tibetan land. The main objective of the work is to put into practice and develop skills and abilities as a concept artist. Also, it tries to reflect everything learned during the Degree studies: lighting, color, anatomy, perspective, spatial vision, and design. In addition to developing these capacities, we intend to help spread the mysterious Tibetan culture. Due to its geographical characteristics, the Tibetan people have little communication with the outside world. Even the Chinese do not know their history and culture well. We hope that current video game design can build a bridge for cross-cultural understanding.
