Hans Svaning og hans latinske Danmarkshistorie

I 27 år, fra 1552 til 1579, sad historikeren Hans Svaning i Ribe og skrev på en stor Danmarkshistorie på latin. Værket blev aldrig udgivet i sin helhed, og i 1728 brændte det store manuskript. Men inden da var dele blevet trykt og andre dele skrevet af, så der er nok tilbage til at vi kan danne os et indtryk af værket som en stort anlagt kongehistorie skrevet af en dreven fortæller.
