O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar o Inventário Geral dos papéis de António Xavier de Miranda Henriques, um inventário post-mortem produzido em 1815 por João Filipe da Cruz para catalogar o arquivo na posse de António Xavier, patriarca eleito de Lisboa e filho do 2º Conde de Sandomil. Na primeira secção analisam-se os contextos e objetivos da produção do inventário, a sua estrutura interna e a sua história custodial e arquivística. Na segunda secção examina-se o arquivo inventariado e as possibilidades de reconstrução virtual do acervo dos Miranda Henriques, desagregado em 1815.
