Darío Pérez-Flores (1936-2022) is a pioneer of Op and Kinetic art. He studied fine arts and literature in his native Venezuela. After moving to Paris in the early ’70s, he joined the Op movement created by fellow Venezuelans Jesús Rafael Soto and Carlos Cruz-Diez.
In 1972 he made his first two-dimensional works “Relief Mobiles”, followed by the “Prochromatique” and “Dynamic Chromatic” series. In 1984 he won the prestigious Venezuelan prize “Primer Premio de Pintura al Salón Arturo Michelena”.
