In the words of the artist: “In the project I chose to address the world of Judaica and Jewish symbolism. In this process, I allowed myself the freedom to explore, interpret and imbue these symbols with personal meaning, in the same way I live and experience Judaism – unbound by any Orthodox law, I pick and choose aspects of Judaism from the Bible, modern Jewish life, Jewish art, and Jewish traditions, as well as facets of my own personal perspective. The manifestation of Judaism in modern Israeli society is quite similar: an eclectic collection of traditions gathered and practiced by an individual. Between criticism and interpretation, between love and hate, this work seeks to legitimize the different, pluralism, and skepticism; to offer a type of Judaism that allows for informed spiritual choices and is able to contain them all.
