PAKISTAN EXPORT DEMAND OF MEAT IN GULF COOPERATION COUNTRIES

This research analyzes Pakistan's exports demand of meat in Gulf Cooperation Countries. Competitiveness in red meat exports using the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index (RCAI) developed by Balassa (1965). The research aims to identify to enhance exports of red meat in GULF countries markets where Pakistan might gain a competitive advantage over its trading counterparts. We include time series data into this study. TRADEMAP data was gathered from 2003 to 2024. Econometric technique ADF used for checking stationarity and ARDL Bound Test for checking long run relationship exist among the dependent and independent variables. F statistics of bound test is 3.780767 is greater than there upper and lower bound which is indicating that there is Co-integration exist. For checking serial correlation through LM test which is indicating that the F-test revealed no significant evidence of serial association. Observed*R-squared = 3.256766 Prob (Chi-square) 0.1962 This is the Chi-square variant of the LM test, which additionally checks for serial correlation. policy recommendations based on an analysis of Pakistan's bovine meat exports to the Gulf region, taking into account Pakistan's comparative performance in relation to major global exporters Australia, Brazil, and India via the lens of Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA). The data shows that Pakistan's RCA in bovine meat, while promising, lags behind major exporters such as Brazil, India, and Australia. To strengthen Pakistan's competitive advantage and long-term export sustainability. Invest in modernizing meat processing and packaging facilities to fulfill Gulf nations' health and halal certification standards. Breed Improvement Programs. Cold Chain Infrastructure: Create integrated cold storage and transportation networks to assure freshness and compliance with export requirements. The Gulf countries constitute a high-value and culturally compatible market for halal bovine meat. However, Pakistan's market share remains small when compared to competitors. Country branding: Create a "Pakistani Halal Meat" marketing campaign for Gulf customers that emphasizes quality, traceability, and religious compliance. Diversify Gulf Buyers: Use trade fairs and diplomatic channels to aggressively engage with underserved regional markets such as Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. Public-Private Partnerships assist exporters with trade facilitation initiatives, export subsidies, and collaborative partnerships with Gulf distributors. The comparative RCA study reveals that India and Brazil dominate owing to high-volume, low-cost manufacturing strategies, whereas Australia benefits from premium positioning and quality assurance. Strategic benchmarking conduct sector-specific research to see how India achieves cost-effectiveness and how Australia handles premium branding. Tariff and non-tariff negotiations: Work diplomatically to lower trade barriers in Gulf markets where rivals may already get special treatment.
