. The Qianlong Emperor (sixth emperor of the Manchu-led Qing Dynasty), from 1735 to 1796. Painted by Giuseppe Castiglione, (1688 – 1766), Italian Jesuit lay priest, who served as a missionary in China, where he became a painter at the court of the emperor.
